Lake Martin Pictures

November 6-7, 2004

Once again we stayed at Burke Cove on the lake. Many of us stayed in the cabins this year.

View from the cabin.

View from the balcony.

Sometimes you can spy on your competition from your cabin.

It was a little windy and rough during practice.

A nice 16+'' spot caught on a Bass Stalker jig during practice. I thought I was on to something.

Meanwhile Bill and Russell didn't seem to be practicing as hard. I guess they are still waiting for some real competition.

Lake Martin is full of short skinny spots.

Does this spot look familiar?

Bill and Russell always find something strange happening on the lake.

We had perfect fall mornings for the tournament.

We tried the crankbait bite up creeks, but only caught dinks.

Chris and Beth Jackson fished with us this year. Nice boat!

Fishing for Lake Martin spots is a little different than fishing for Lake Guntersville largemouth. Chris adjusted nicely.

Bill and Russell start the weigh in with the usual limit.

Our system is a little less fancy than using equalizer scales with large display screen.

Russell shows off the day one big fish.

As usual, we caught our limit of tiny spots.

1st Class

2nd Class.

Weigh Ins are a little less stressful when only three boats are involved.

Relaxing on the dock.

Lance and I had to rest at the day 2 weigh in. We worked hard to catch one more keeper, but came in one fish short.

Lance managed to win big fish with this 2-6 spot.

Bill and Russell weigh in yet another limit.

And win another tournament and another Angler of the Year award.

"I can't believe you let them beat us again"
