LAY LAKE

JUNE 19-20, 2004

I am going ahead and posting the pictures I have now.  I will post the rest as they come in.  I know Hughen and Whiddon have some extras that I should get eventually.

Chris Hughen was my guest for this tournament.

Jeremy Whiddon and Mike Stowe were guests as well. Jeremy was nice enough to let us hold weigh-in at his lake house. Thank You Jeremy!

Our new member, Skip Davis, fished with Clint.

Aren't owls suppose to be a nocturnal animals?

On the first day of tournament we saw Bill and Russell fishing one of their favorite spots.

"ho-humm, I guess we'll just have to win another one"

Somebody call PETA and tell them a healthy dose of poetic justice has been served.

Obviously, the first day of the tournament could have gone better for me.

I can report that the staff of the Sylacouga ER have excellent bedside manners....

Jeremy and Mike head to weigh-in.

Time to get out of the hot sun.

Clint and Skip barely beat the buzzer...

...but are looking confident in Skip's new boat.

Some catfish grabbers stopped by...

...and showed us what a real big fish looks like.

Lance was unable to fish but made it to the weigh-in to hang out.

Hughen explains to the group how he graciously offered to rip the barbed hook from my finger so we wouldn't lose any fishing time.

Bill starts the weigh-in by pulling out this 3-9 spot that would eventually win big fish.

Clint made him sweat it out though...his 3-6 was awfully close.

I think this is the third tourament in a row where Clint caught a fish that I thought would make the Top 10, only to barely miss the mark.

At least Clint's catfish will definitely be on the list for quite a while.

Hughen's crappie is lucky it didn't get eaten.

After three days of fishing, Hughen wasn't very happy when a monster stripe broke his line.

We have a special rule for using saltwater stripe for trash fish; they do not have to be weighed in if a picture is taken of the entire fish...

...and a picture is taken of the scales showing the fish's weight.

Look at the coloration on this spot...

After the weigh-in Bill was finding left over fish in his livewell...i guess that means they won easily. again.
