Lake Wheeler

This year we rented cabin 32 at Joe Wheeler State Park.

It was small considering all the tackle and food we bring, but the price can't be beat. It suited our needs nicely.

Beautiful sunrise.

For a change we enjoyed beautiful weather for prefishing and the tournament.

Spring had sprung.

A beautiful cove.

You can see the pods of fish just under the surface.

Mating carp.

I believe someone summed up our eating situation when he said "we are a bunch of glutinous bastards".

"Let's eat"

Our weigh-ins can be dramatic.

As we pull our fish out to be weighed...

...each team tries to get a glimpse of the others catch.

Sometimes that glimpse is not very impressive.

Clint fished his first tournament as a boater and brought Penn as his guest.

Unfortunately they had equipment problems that made watching other people weigh in fish not much fun.

Lance won big fish prize with a 2-11 largemouth.

Russell won the trash fish prize with this 3-4 channel cat.

This 1-3 black crappie gets an honorable mention.
