LOGAN MARTIN PICTURES

JULY 28-29, 2006

LODGING

Clint Jacobs hosted this tournament and he went above and beyond the call of duty by putting us up at his family's lake house in Country Club Estates.

The house provided us excellent access to the water.

PRACTICE

Our tournament was held four days before the FLW Championship on the lake.  It was fun to be on the water with the pros while they practiced.

These pros pulled up to this dock right after Luke Clausen left. I believe Art Berry and Andy Morgan are on the right. I do not know the angler on the left.

The cool dog is unidentified.

They appeared to be practicing together on this day.

Michael Bennett and Ish Monroe have a discussion. I do not know the angler sitting down. Come and get you some Alabama magnum spots Ish!

Tashinari Namiki and his lovely wife.

Dude offered to get on my boat and while his wife took a photo. Is that cool or what?

This is a suspected pro, but I can't be certain that this isn't just some lucky guy who owns very nice boat.

Same question. A pro, or just some guy with a super nice rig?

I don't profess to be an expert on the FLW Tour.  If I've misidentified an angler or if you have any additional insight into who these guys are, please send me an email.

Lance had an ugly incident during practice.

Why is Lance one cheeking it in a waiting room?

Uh-oh...this can't be good.

This is what a broken off jerkbait hook looks like when it is embedded deep in Lance's ass.

Momma always told me to wear clean undies in case this happened.

Lance was told by the staff of the Talledaga ER that they have removed hundreds of fishing hooks from all areas of the body...except this part. This is the first and only time they've had to remove one from this particular part of the body.

The doctor diagramed the famous fishing line hook removal technique for our future reference. Given the fact that Lance is not the first TMTangler to visit the ER on his vacation, I think the odds of this technique being used in the future are fairly high.

Before the tournament Bill professed to all that he, "knew Logan Martin like the back of his hand".  His disturbing level of confidence called for a little sabotage from his competitors.

One ordinary banana,

secretly placed out of sight,

equals bad luck for Bill and Skip.

TOURNAMENT DAY 1

Thunderstorms were present for both days of the tournament.

Hello Mr. Spann, will you please explain to me how we can schedule a tournament during a drought and still get soaking wet?

1:00 AM Day One Weigh-In

Clint had the thankless job of being the scribe. Thanks Clint!

Lance and Benson get their fish.

Bill caught this 3-8 drum, which won trash fish and will no doubt be on the Top 10 Trash Fish list for years to come.

A nice 1-13 spot caught by Skip.

A nice 2-5 spot caught by Lance.

Clint and I won big fish with this 3-9 spot. His 3 + lb cousin caught in the final minutes of the tournament helped us win the tournament.

TOURNAMENT DAY TWO

It rained and rained and rained some more for this entire day of competition.  No one got the cameras out take pictures.
