After an Artic like...18 degree...early morning hunt...I decided to see if the fish were as frost bitten as I... so off to our hunting club lake I went. After an hour of fooling with crankbaits with little success...I decided to give the Mrs. Jig and pig yet another try. 30 mins of slow hops did produce two or three fish but I kept noticing larger ones following the Mrs. piggy up to the bank. So...I decided to give her some more action...six quick turns of my reel...then let her fall...and the rest...is for the history books. My next 5 fish weighed in this order...4 lbs 11 oz....6.0 lbs...7 lbs 6 oz...7 lb 2 oz and last...but not least...this bruiser....so lets play......guess this bad boys weight ? The person who comes closest wins one free drink compliments of Mr. Bill (at our next get together). Only hint you get is....the lake was stocked June 14, 2001 with 1 3/4" fingerlings...Good luck....BillPS....I left the lake at 2 PM to go to my hunting stand where I took a nice 8 pt buck about dusk (at 175 yds with a muzzleloader)....
