LAKE CHICKAMAUGA STORY

October 12-13, 2007

TMTanglers held it's fall tournament this year on the Tennessee River reservoir Lake Chickamauga.  We had originally planned to rent a cabin in Harrison, TN.   But due to a reservations mess-up we had to scramble to find alternate lodging in Soddy Daisy.  (Click here to learn why we recommend steering clear of Island Cove Marina).   The weather was pretty much perfect for fall; lows in the 40s in the morning and 70s in the afternoon.  It is nice to spend the day outside on those clean air blue bird sky fall days.   But those same blue bird skies sure can make the fishing tough.

The fish cooperated somewhat during practice and everyone caught fish.  But it was obvious that keepers would be hard to come by for our little group and that turned out to be exactly the case.  No limits were weighed in for this tournament, which is very unusual for our group.  Bo and Benson came in first place with a two day weight on 16-04 anchored by a 3-04 LM that won big fish.  The fish were caught junk fishing in the morning with standard bass lures: crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and topwater.  Russell Fackler won trash fish prize with a 3-02 blue cat caught on a Rat-L-Trap.
