LAKE MITCHELL STORY
July 27-28, 2007
TMTanglers held it's summer tournament on Lake Mitchell July 27-28. For accommodations we used Cedar Cove Rentals ( www.cedarcoverentals.com ). Fishing reports indicated tough conditions before the tournament, but on Coosa River lakes you know that the bite can't remain that bad forever. The hours for this tournament were 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM. The weather was perfect for the tournament, Partly cloudy in the afternoons and crystal clear at night. The near full moon illuminated the lake well and navigation was no problem.
Plenty of fish were caught on a wide variety of patterns. On day one Crawford-Davis took a commanding lead with a 12-04 stringer. They choked somewhat on day two bringing in only 9-12, but were able to win the overall tournament based on the strength of their day one bag with a two day total of 22-00. All teams caught limits on day two. Trash fish was won by Bo Crawford with a 4-12 drum. Big fish was won by Lance Granger with a 3-06 spot.
The winning team did not weigh in a single fish caught on hard lures. This was a soft plastics tournament.
