This is the "Team vs Team" tournament I have always wanted TMTanglers to do but we have never been able to pull off.

Dates September 29 - October 1
Lake: Lake Wheeler
Lodging: Jameson Inn, Decatur
Rate: 64.15 per night (includes tax, $32.08 per man per night)

So are we like the Bad News Bears or something? This sucks that we can't find six people to fish.

Would you guys be more interested if we just kept it quaint and did our own thing against a few other clubs? I was thinking about inviting another club from Alabama and two clubs from Georgia for an annual tournament. But I don't want to do the work to organize it if we can't show up with a team of six!

Let me know your thoughts!

Pure honesty on my part...... those types of things don't get me real fired up.

And you only have the one.

That is why I am asking if it would be better to do our own thing...a tournament that would occur on a Sat & Sun.

I know Jason and I discussed trying to add one more club function to our schedule. I was hoping some Club vs. Club tradition would be it. I have done a tournament like this before and I am telling you it is a kick in the ass!

I have a couple of thoughts:

#1) Two AL clubs and Two GA clubs rotate as Hosts and have an annual tournament. But I am hesitate to do this because I don't want to do all the work do to the first one.

#2) We challenge Birmingham Bass Club to an annual tournament.

If we do number 2 (which is the simplest solution), would you rather it be a two day or one day tournament?

Talked to BBC about a one dayer next year. We need to think of a name for the trophy...

Magic City Shootout ? --still need help with a clever name.
